Grief and Trauma Relief

Dr Susan Jamieson & Holistic Central Medical Practice reach out to Hong Kong’s Japanese community.

As a gesture of sympathy to the Japanese community in Hong Kong, Dr Susan Jamieson & Holistic Central Medical Practice are offering a  free package (worth HK$3000) of:

Counselling and relaxing  body therapy sessions

The package is offered as practical relief for those within the Japanese community who feel stress, helplessness or despair after the devastating tsunami in Japan.

If anyone feels that they need assistance and support in coping with the disaster, please call the practice on 2523 8044.

Dr Jamieson has received awards for charity work and has personally worked with victims of such disasters in the past, being one of the first doctors on site in Sri Lanka the week after the Asian Tsunami of 2004. Dr Jamieson is currently in Szechuan working on a government-sponsored programme for victims of the 2008 Szechuan earthquake who are still so traumatized that they are unable to conceive.

“While shock, despair, pain, fear, worry, and confusion are normal feelings for those close to such a disaster, many of the Japanese community in Hong Kong will be feeling particularly helpless in that there is little they can do to help friends and relatives directly affected by the disaster,” says Dr Jamieson. “We can help people deal with this despair and we feel it is the least we can do in these circumstances.”

At the practice Dr Sharmeen Shroff, Clinical Psychologist, is offering a free counselling session to those affected, while pressure-point massage and acupuncture therapist Timothy Tse is able to bring relief through a bodywork, anti stress massage and re-balancing session.
